The Goal is BEING

The Goal is BEING.

The greatness of your spirit is the starting point of all goal achievement.

Your only guaranteed destination is the grave.

You are born with the infinite possibilities.

Don’t ask yourself “What do I want to do?” Ask yourself “Where can I serve?”, “How can I contribute?” “What do I need to become to really make a difference?”

You must convince yourself of your inner-greatness and your potential for outer-greatness.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what others think.

You must believe that you are capable of great things.

Say “Yes!”, Have fun!

“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” – Lewis Carroll

Since our early years, we have made a series of choices. For whatever reason we are where we are. If we are addicted to an activity or substance we made the choice to try it. If we are in a relationship, we made the choice to stay. Good and bad, we did it. We made an effort to get where we are.

Below are some steps for positive change;

  •  Know what you need to change

We make changes in our lives when our life becomes uncomfortable, stressful, unmanageable and and/or painful.

Do you like the road that you are on? What about your present life would you change? What did you begin years ago that no longer fits?

  •  Know where you want to go.

Finish the statement “If my life were ideal I …”

Paint a picture in your mind of your ideal life. What are you doing? Who are you with? What kind of activities are you doing?

  •  Feel better!

We will start to see positive changes in our lives when we start to FEEL positive. We will start to feel positive when we adjust our minds to positive things. What can be more positive than your “ideal life”?

Your imagination is your preview of life’s coming attractions.  – Albert Einstein

Your Attitude Gauge

“Everything can be taken from a man, but the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude…” – Victor Frankl

Inside many modern planes is an attitude gauge.  The basic function of the attitude gauge is to show the pilot the position of the plane in relation to the earth’s surface. Our personal attitude is an indicator also. If we have a negative attitude then we are off course. A positive attitude shows that life is either being managed or blissfully accepted. Our attitude can be changed for the better.

To get on course I suggest 5 basic steps;

  1. Be still and know that God lives in you, understand that you were created in the image of God and you are one of His children.
  2. Accept your life the way it is. Look at the harsh realities.
  3. Get a basic idea of where you are going. Create a vision of your ideal life. Finish the sentence; If my life were ideal I would be….? Make the commitment to see your dreams come true.
  4. Count your blessings, gifts and advantages.
  5. Take care of your health and well-being; it’s worth fighting for.

Whatever your situation learn to manage it.

Surviving the Toxic Workplace

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Have you fallen victim to your own beliefs? Do you give others power to influence your emotions? Do you believe that other people can dictate your happiness?

You have the final say in what you think and feel. The truth is you have more than enough inner power to survive and thrive the most negative of circumstances. Know your reality.

Here are a few ideas to help deal with a negative workplace.

  • Choose to thrive despite the toxic influence; find creative ways to resist the negative in your environment. Use your creativity to stay mentally and spiritually alive.
  • Choose to live with dignity and never cave to the negative forces.
  • Affirm the meaning in life, in-spite of your hardships. Meaning can be found in the most horrible of situations.
  • Keep faith in yourself, faith in your loved ones, and faith in God.
  • Maintain Hope, no matter hopeless the situation. Find the courage to fight another day, no matter how difficult and painful.
  • Find humor in your ordeal.

Whatever your situation learn to love it.
